*This video is for my grandfather, who has just recently had to take a step back from the farm. At the age of 83, while he's not on the farm, these videos are the only way for him to know what's happening on the farm.
Monday morning we had a major breakdown on one of our pivots. The flexi plate that locks the wheel into position to walk cracked and broke. This was my first time welding/ repairing this, as my brother, who is a qualified welder by trade, is unavailable.
Fran, my Grandfather would have been very good at repairing this. Having him in the workshop helping and advising would have been great, but those days are gone, sadly. I believe I have done the job to a good enough standard. I could maybe put a bit more wire into the welds next time.
