In this 6th vlog of my Nepal series i'm giving you a full tour of Kathmandu's world famous Pashupatinath Temple. Though no one is allowed to shoot inside main temple so I can't show you that part but I'm sure you'll be happy to see rest of Pashupatinath Temple compound which is magnificent.
This sacred Hindu temple complex is located on the banks of the Bagmati River, and it is one of UNESCO World Heritage Sites since 1979.
Pashupatinath Temple is the oldest Hindu temple in Kathmandu. It is not known for certain when Pashupatinath Temple was built. But according to Nepal Mahatmaya and Himvatkhanda, Lord Shiva here gained great fame there as Pashupati, the Lord of all Pashus, which are living as well as non-living beings. Pashupatinath Temple's existence dates back to 400 B.C.
Only Hindus can enter inside main temple, but non-Hindus can witness evening aarti from backside of temple near Bagmati riverbank. You can see this wonderful aarti in my vlog too.
