How to fly a short field traffic pattern with 4 short field takeoffs and short field landings in a Piper Cherokee 140. This Pilot Vlog is a cockpit view flying video which includes all Piper Cherokee 140 aircraft checklists and non-towered airport communications. With each flight in the traffic pattern I make adjustments to the short field takeoff technique and short field landing technique as well as various stages of the airport traffic pattern, including takeoffs, climb-out, pattern altitude, descent, landings, or landing roll. This Pilot Vlog is a favorite of mine in which each flight is an improvement on how I fly an airplane in the traffic pattern.
I always have a lot of fun flying in the traffic pattern at my home airport which is a short field airport. This Pilot Vlog shows four circuits in the traffic pattern at a short field airport - Goose Creek Airport, 28A, south of Charlotte, NC. Whenever I am practicing flying the traffic pattern at a short field I am always amazed at how fast everything happens. With only a 2300ft short runway, you almost have to start prepping the aircraft's descent into landing once you turn the downwind leg of the traffic pattern.
This Pilot Vlog flying video was shot inside one of the flying club's Piper Cherokee 140 single engine aircraft. I talked my way through all flight maneuvers. I hope you enjoy this flying video. Thanks for watching and be sure to subscribe to my channel!
