Shrimp Stir Fry Recipe
1 lb. medium shrimp (shelled and deveined)
1 of each: red bell pepper, yellow bell pepper, orange bell pepper in 2 inch slices
1/2 yellow onion, cut into 2 inch strips
3 cups broccoli
1-2 tbsp butter
2 cloves garlic (we used approx. 1/2 tbsp garlic paste)
1 tsp. ginger (minced/chopped - again, we used garlic paste)
green onion and sesame seeds for garnish
2-3 tbsp vegetable oil
Salt & Pepper to taste
Stir Fry Sauce
1 cup chicken broth
2 tbsp soy sauce
4 tbsp hoisin sauce
2 tsp sesame oil
1 tbsp corn starch
Mix all ingredients for the sauce in a medium bowl, and set aside.
Set the griddle to medium low setting. Once heated, lay 1 tbsp of oil on the griddle, and place the vegetables in the oil. Cook the vegetables while moving on the griddle (slow mixing), and incorporate the butter, and some salt and pepper. Once the onions become somewhat transparent (approximately 10 minutes), on a separate part of the griddle, place another tbsp of oil, the garlic, and ginger. Mix in the garlic and ginger, and place the shrimp on the garlic, ginger, and oil when the garlic begins to brown (do not wait too long or the garlic will burn.) . Continue cooking and moving the shrimp for 3-4 minutes. Once the shrimp is pink, mix the shrimp with the vegetables, and pour in the sauce, a little at a time. Use as much or as little sauce as you like! Serve with your favorite side dish, garnishing with sesame seeds and chopped green onions. Enjoy!
