the ultimate beginner crochet tutorial

granny square pattern written out:
(for the ch2 (or 3) choose one that you use for the rest of the pattern, don't switch between chaining 2 or 3).
first row: (1) magic circle, (2) ch2 2dc into circle ch2 (or 3), (3) 3dc into circle ch2 (or 3), (4) repeat (3) two more times, (5) sl into top chain from beginning of magic circle (still do your 2/3 chains from step 3 before this slip stitch) and close off magic circle by pulling end
for each following row, do the same pattern for the corner (3dc ch2 (or ch3) 3dc), and do 3 dc into each gap on the sides. make sure to ch 1 between each of these dc clusters (corner & gap) as well. end off each row with a slip stitch after the last chain.
chain 1, pull through and cut off yarn when you've reached the length you want.
