SubZero Drain Cleaning, Gasket Ripped, Evaporator Icing up, Repair & Diagnosis

Описание: This SubZero had many issues at the same time, that are common for these units, and likely were ignored for them to all be present at the same time.
The unique thing about SubZero units are that they can leak quite a bit of freon and still cool just fine, keeping 37 to 38 degs in the refrigerator, so you don't know that the evaporator or heat exchanger is leaking freon very slow, through corrosion pin holes, that can be there for months even up to and over a year, what we call 2 year leaks, and are so small they are next to impossible to detect where they are leaking.
I go through one problem at a time with this customer, to identify each issue and help him flush the drain out, and diagnose the likely problems that are causing the other issues, which the cooling, leaking issue will be verified without gauges, when he gets back to me and send s me pics of the evaporator frost pattern, to verify if the system is low on freon or not.
This isn't always perfect, but if the evaporator is not filling up completely with freon, as happens when there is a leak and the freon level is very low, then the capillary inlet will freeze up with solid ice and start icing up, not frost, but ICE, over the entire evaporator eventually, if not addressed, which then blocks the air flow and finally really warms up the refrigerator section, and starts showing ice on the outside of the evaporator cover, so you can see it by just looking inside the refrigerator, at the back wall on the left side, about half way down, where it forms a ice ball sort of, due to the freon icing in the inlet of the evaporator, due to being so low on freon.
We also addressed the different rust patches and how to best sand and repaint them, to stop the rust from growing more.
This was a pretty common situation we run into in the home, with older units, with several things going on at once, but still worth repairing, as the insane cost of the new units, not justified at all, being $15,000 to $18,000 is not what most people can even fathom being able to afford!
