Throughout His life, the Psalms played a significant role in Jesus's life. Not only did He memorize and recite these poems in His prayers & religious life, but He also referred to and recited the Psalms during His ministry and throughout His Passion.
When we recite the Psalms, we speak the same words Jesus spoke. Two major ways we honor and imitate our Lord in this way are by reflecting on and praying the Psalms in the Holy Mass and the Divine Office (where this poetry is found abundantly).
If the Psalms were an important part of Christ's life, why not make them an important part of our's?
