But I Do (Award-Winning Short Film)

Описание: This award-winning short film arose from a letter I received from a girl traveling in Europe. She read my book, The Single Girl's Guide to Meeting European Men, and used it to change her life. The concerns that troubled her when she bought my book are shared by many of today's young women. As a writer, I've done several university events. Each time, girls confide that they feel like they have to look and act a certain way to attract the men they desire. I always find this troubling, and explain that every girl has worth and appealing traits. What matters most is that she has confidence and is true to herself. This is message of But I Do.

The film won Best Music Video in Toronto, the Royal Reel Award for excellence at the Canada International Film Festival, and three awards at an international film festival in Jakarta cosponsored by the U.S. and French cultural centers—one was for the overall film and the other two were for me as best producer and actress.

Plus, I was honored at the Los Angeles Movie Awards for directing it, with a group that has included Ron Howard, Samuel Jackson, and Hayden Christensen. Besides the fact that they're famous, there is another minor difference between them and me:) Their staffs were experienced professionals, from crew to catering. Mine consisted of 92 friends who graciously volunteered, and catering was when I shared a bag of Milky Way candy bars. What I loved most was the fun we had.
