It is a wonderful place for getting some fresh air and relaxing.

you can learn to sail your first boat
or just mess about on the water
there are walks, both around the loch or up one of the surrounding hills
with panoramic lakeland views from high up or from the shore
in the evenings you can have a barbecue and beer before retiring to your tent
and hang out by the loch and watch its still waters in the dusk
nearby there is a small cafe and you can watch the motorcyclists and cyclists go by
and visit the statue to the Ettrick Shepherd James Hogg a famous Scottish poet
