When Eileen Horner discovered the Brunswick Inn, the advice she received was that it might be a risky investment. But Holy Cross taught her to move through uncertainty with discernment, and to ask deeper questions of herself than simple yes/no ones. Throughout her journey she dug deep into the resilience her education fostered and found many opportunities for growth.
Hornor, English major at Holy Cross from the Class of 1989, is an entrepreneur and hospitality consultant whose work has focused on sustainability and leadership within the hotel and restaurant industry. She began her hospitality career at The Greenbrier Resort, then turned to private catering when she relocated with her family to New England. For 16 years she has owned OneSixtyFive, an award-winning historic inn and restaurant in Maine, where her focus on “unreasonable hospitality” and local partnerships has made the inn a cherished hub of the community and a favorite of savvy travelers.
CrossTalks are offered by the Ciocca Center for Business, Ethics, and Society at the College of the Holy Cross.
