Xavier Cardoza describes his passion for nature through his obsession with Bigfoot.
Xavier was born in the Year of the Golden Dragon, thirteen years ago in San Francisco. Moving over the years from San Francisco to Berkeley and now living in Napa where he is a 7th Grader at Blue Oak School. He has one younger brother and a motley crew of stepsiblings, one nephew and cousins.
Since before he could read he devoured information from nature shows and always had obsessive interests starting with birds then dinosaurs and now Sasquatch. He spends his free time playing basketball, volleyball and fencing. This past spring with his partner they won the all Napa Science Fair -- by constructing a Tesla coil from hardware store supplies.
Xavier is keenly interested in travel and has visited Mexico, Peru, South Africa, Canada, Vatican City, Botswana, England, France and Italy. His repulsion for communism runs deep. On his travels he is typically seen dining on local fare from kudu to guinea pig to alpaca prosciutto. On his recent trip to South Africa he was introduced to bird watching and is fascinated by it.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
