Transhumanism vs. the Image of God: The Battle for Human Identity

Genesis 6 reveals that fallen angels defiled humanity, producing giants and polluting the human race. Today, similar patterns are emerging through transhumanism, a movement that seeks to enhance humans through nanotechnology and biotechnology, pushing toward post-humanism.

One of the most prominent global organizations promoting this ideology is the World Economic Forum, whose founder openly advocates transhumanist doctrine. Transhumanism aims to redesign humanity—not in the image of God, but in the image of man. This contradicts Ephesians 4:24, which calls believers to “put on the new man, created after God in righteousness and true holiness.” The biblical transformation is spiritual, not mechanical. Jesus came to redeem and regenerate humans, not to reengineer them through artificial means.

This movement aligns with the prophetic warnings in Revelation 13, where two beasts emerge—the Antichrist and the False Prophet. The second beast, described in Revelation 13:11–15, performs false miracles, deceives the masses, and compels the world to worship the image of the first beast. This image is given life and speech, and those who refuse to worship it are killed. This signals the rise of a one-world religion, enforced through compulsory worship and supernatural deception2.

The push to “believe in science”—especially in Europe—is another troubling trend. Historically, science was defined by evidence and experimentation, not belief. Yet today, governments and institutions are urging people to “believe” in science, even when evidence is lacking. This shift from empirical science to pseudoscience mirrors the spiritual deception warned about in 1 Timothy 6:20, which cautions against “science falsely so called.”

The merging of technology, ideology, and spiritual deception is setting the stage for the beast system described in Revelation. As AI, biotechnology, and digital surveillance expand, many fear that these tools will be used to control societies, enforce compliance, and replace faith with engineered belief systems.

In this climate, believers must remain spiritually alert. Jesus said in Luke 21:36, “Watch therefore, and pray always, that you may be accounted worthy to escape all these things.” The only escape from the coming tribulation is through the rapture, and the only safeguard against deception is truth rooted in God’s Word.
