【岡山県：安藤騎虎】Kiko Ando

Описание: We introduce ceramic artist Ando Kiko.

Rooted in the techniques of Bizen ware,
he does not remain confined to tradition,
but continues to explore form through his own sensibility.

He gathers natural clay, carefully refines it by hand,
and fires his works without glaze —
relying solely on the interaction between flame and earth.

There is no hesitation in each process.
The layers of preparation and concentration
appear directly in the texture and presence of the vessels.

Twice a year, the wood-fired kiln is lit.
Facing the kiln head-on,
he reads the movement of flame and subtle shifts in temperature.

No two surfaces emerge the same.
Embracing even this unpredictability,
he continues to challenge and expand the possibilities of the material.

Traditional, yet undeniably contemporary.
Within carefully composed forms,
the accidental expressions born of fire quietly reside.

The vessels hold a distinct presence,
yet naturally settle into daily life.

In this film, we refrain from excessive explanation,
preserving the atmosphere of making and the quiet tension of handwork.

備前焼の技法を礎としながら、
そこに留まることなく、自身の感覚でかたちを探り続ける作り手です。

自然の土を採取し、何度も手をかけて整え、
釉薬を使わず、炎と土の作用だけで焼き上げる。

一つひとつの工程には迷いがなく、
積み重ねられた準備と集中が、
器の質感や佇まいにそのまま現れています。

年に二度の薪窯。
窯と真正面から向き合い、
炎の流れや温度の変化を読み続ける時間。

焼き上がりの景色は一つとして同じものはありません。
その揺らぎさえも受け止めながら、
素材の可能性を押し広げる挑戦を続けています。

伝統的でありながら、どこか現代的。
計算されたフォルムの中に、
火が生む偶然の表情が宿る。

特別な存在感を放ちながらも、
不思議と日常に馴染む器です。

制作の空気と手仕事の緊張感をそのまま残しています。
