The nickname "Hakosuka" is a Japanese for box "hako" and the pronounced abbreviation for Skyline "suka".
The first car to use the "GTR" under the model code Originally debut at the 1968 Tokyo Motor Show, advertised alongside the Nissan R380 racecar to showcase the Skyline racing heraldly.
Became successful in a number on car touring championship. Combined with it's best technologies and producing the Skyline 2000 GTR after merging after Japanese sports car manufacturer Prince Motors.
Powered with a 2 liter inline 6 producing 119 kW and 176 Nm of torque paired with a 5 speed manual gearbox.
Only 1945 were made during its three years production run. 0 to 100 in 8,1 seconds and top speed of 191 km/h.
The price value of a Nissan Skyline 2000 GTR is between $55,000 to $240,000 ( R970,000 to R4 million) . In 2023, a 1971 Nissan Skyline 2000 GTR sold for $211,000 ( R3,7 million)
