The JAM Masterclass Series 2023 is a free course focussing on writing for string quartet, in collaboration with the inspirational Sacconi Quartet, international composer Paul Mealor, John Frederick Hudson and other guest tutors. JAM invites composers to participate in a 2-week composition residency, during its JAM on the Marsh festival, running 4-16 July 2023 on Romney Marsh, Kent. This unique course gives access to world-class tutoring and free entry to all festival concerts. A £500 commission prize will be awarded to the winner of this series.

JAM and the Sacconi Quartet have released a series of free, short videos, as an introduction to writing for string quartet, with valuable tips for composers. This string writing course includes over 60 examples of practical solutions composed by John Frederick Hudson and performed by the Sacconi Quartet. Our highly informative Masterclass videos from previous Series have been watched worldwide by over 15,000 to date.
