In this video, we will discuss the difference between "can" and "may" in our English grammar playlist by American English teacher Kristina.

1) Can is often used in informal requests for permission, even if may is more grammatically correct.

2) May is also used for requests, but usually sounds more formal.

3) Both can and may are used to describe a future possibility.

4) May is also used to express wishes and desires.
