Описание: Join the Colorado chapters of the American Planning Association (APA) and Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS) for a September webinar presentation by Randy Grauberger, project director for the Colorado Southwest Chief and Front Range Passenger Rail (FRPR) Commission. Randy will provide a presentation highlighting the status of the Rail Commission activities related to the FRPR and Amtrak’s Southwest Chief. The Rail Commission is tasked with facilitating the implementation and operation of future passenger rail plans along the Front Range Corridor between Pueblo and Fort Collins. The project team builds on past studies to determine what course of action will best support making passenger rail a reality along the Front Range. The project development process includes a range of alternatives including policy and governing structure, stakeholder engagement and Pre-National Environmental Policy Act (Pre-NEPA) planning. The Rail Commission is also charged with working with Amtrak, BNSF Railway and neighboring states of Kansas and New Mexico to ensure that Amtrak’s Southwest Chief long-distance train connecting Chicago to Los Angeles continues to provide service to southeastern Colorado.
