فاصلوں کو تکلف ہے ہم سے اگر
ہم بھی بےبس نہیں، بے سہارا نہیں

If distances are formal/cold with us
We are not helpless, not without support

خود انہی کو پکاریں گے ہم دور سے
راستے میں اگر پاؤں تھک جائیں گے

We will call them ourselves from far away
If our feet get tired on the path

ہم مدینے میں تنہا نکل جائیں گے
اور گلیوں میں قصداً بھٹک جائیں گے

We will step out alone in Medina
And wander intentionally in the streets

ہم وہاں جا کے واپس نہیں آئیں گے
ڈھونڈتے ڈھونڈتے لوگ تھک جائیں گے

We will not return after going there
People will get tired searching for us

جیسے ہی سبز گنبد نظر آ جائے گا
بندگی کا قرینہ بدل جائے گا

As soon as the Green Dome becomes visible
The way of worship will change

سر جھکانے کی فرصت ملے گی کسے
خود ہی پلکوں سے سجدے ٹپک جائیں گے

Who will get time to bow their head?
Tears themselves will drip into prostration

اے مدینے کے زائر، خدا کے لیے
داستانِ سفر مجھ کو یوں مت سنا

O visitor of Medina, for Allah's sake
Don't tell me the travel story like this

بات بڑھ جائے گی، دل تڑپ جائے گا
میرے محتاط آنسو چھلک جائیں گے

Conversation will increase, heart will ache
My careful tears will spill over

نامِ آقا ﷺ جہاں بھی لیا جائے گا
ذکر اُن کا جہاں بھی کیا جائے گا

Wherever the Master's ﷺ name is taken
Wherever His remembrance happens

نور ہی نور سینوں میں بھر جائے گا
ساری محفل میں جلوے لپک جائیں گے

Hearts will fill with light upon light
Divine manifestations will sparkle through

اُن کی چشمِ کرم کو ہے اس کی خبر
کس مسافر کو ہے کتنا شوقِ سفر

His gracious eyes know well
Which traveler has how much longing

ہم کو اقبالؔ جب بھی اجازت ملی
ہم بھی اُن کے دربار تک جائیں گے

Whenever Allama Iqbal gave us permission
We too will go to His court
