Stakeholders and development partners In River Mpanga catchment area are in a campaign to protect the river buffer zones following high levels of degradation from neighbouring communities.
River Mpanga is the main source of water for over six districts in Tooro sub- region. The river is also used for power generation, however human activities are impacting on it.
The 200km Mpanga river stretches in the six districts of Kabarole, Fort portal city, Kyenjojo, Kamwenge, Kitagwenda, to Ibanda and is a tributary to lake George.
