To celebrate the 50 year anniversary of Germany becoming a member of the United Nations, the Permanent Mission of Germany to the UN in New York has created and recorded an original song titled after the anniversary's theme: "Uniting for Humanity".

The song and its video stem from the desire felt by members of the German Mission to the U.N. in New York to express our gratitude for the opportunity to be part of the U.N. family. The song celebrates the unifying power of music.
In a time of increasing geopolitical tensions and a brutal war of aggression, we know that there are no magic solutions to achieve peace. Key to successful diplomacy is to keep working hard even for small steps towards overcoming conflicting interests and diverging perspectives.
But let's at least imagine: what if we had a song that would turn a heated debate into an exuberant party? What if a tune motivated people from various backgrounds to dance together and not to quarrel? What if we had an anthem with the power to create friendship?
"So belt out those notes / bass in your bones / when music is playing / you're not alone!"
Song composed by Josef Satler, German Mission to the U.N.
Produced and arranged by Josef Satler and Cameron Shaw
Lyrics and Vocals by Olivia Klein
Mixed and mastered by Camshawmusic
Video and editing by Jonathan Quintero and Juan Vega, WeFilm
Video cast: Members of the German House New York, including the German Mission to the U.N. and people from the streets of New York who loved the song.
