How We Make Deals To Secure Singapore’s Food Supply, From Farmer To Inspectors

Описание: His great-grandfather started the family chicken farming business, but Kenny Toh of Toh Thye San is a very different breed of chicken farmer. Much of his time is spent making deals with suppliers abroad, to help Singapore ensure a constant supply of poultry even when a crisis like the 2022 Malaysian chicken export ban arises.

Kenny is just one link in a chain – one that includes officers from the Singapore Food Agency (SFA) who scout for, rigorously inspect and accredit overseas farms and slaughterhouses. Singapore imports food from more than 180 countries, and much hard work goes into diversifying supply chains to ensure food security.
