Narendra Modi and Giorgia Meloni have upgraded India-Italy ties to a “special strategic partnership” during high-level talks in Rome.

Both countries have set a target of increasing bilateral trade to 20 billion Euros by 2029 while expanding cooperation in defence, technology, AI, energy, space, education, and trade. The leaders also discussed the West Asia crisis and stressed the need for peace, dialogue, and stability.
