Unemployment benefits delayed due to federal stimulus timing, UIA says

Описание: Some unemployment insurance payments may take longer that usual due to the delayed timing in the finalization of the federal coronavirus relief package and government spending bill signed in law over the weekend, the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity said Monday.

The delay will be temporary, the state department explained, and will only impact the certification and payment of benefits for claims under the federal PUA and PEUC programs. This will only be a disruption and claimants will be made whole once the extensions are fully implemented.
