Approved by the Union Cabinet in August 2024 with an outlay of ₹1,765.67 crore (including $98M ADB loan), CPP aims to safeguard crops from systemic pathogens, boost yields, and enhance India’s global horticulture exports.

9 Clean Plant Centres to be set up (3 in Maharashtra: Pune – Grapes, Nagpur – Oranges, Solapur – Pomegranates).
Modern Nurseries: ₹3 crore support for large nurseries & ₹1.5 crore for medium ones; 8 crore disease-free seedlings/year.
On-Ground Actions: Hazard Analysis for grapes (578 samples tested), apples (535 samples under testing), citrus (protocol in progress).
First Clean Plant Centre: Bidding process underway.
Lab Assessments (2025): Strengthening bioinformatics pipelines for HTS virus detection.
International Cooperation: Israel & Netherlands providing technical collaboration.
