One of Russia's main gas pipelines was struck by a massive explosion that sent flames and smoke into the air above and raised concerns that it was retaliation for Vladimir Putin's ongoing invasion of Ukraine.
After striking around 14 miles east of St. Petersburg, the country's second-largest city and Putin's hometown, the fireball was visible for miles in all directions.
