Tyne & Wear Metro : Replacement Bus : South Shields to Heworth

Описание: Enjoy a relaxing journey, from South Shields to Heworth, on the Tyne & Wear Metro ‘replacement bus’ number 900.

This journey took place on Saturday 30th October 2021, leaving South Shields at about 14:00

The red double-decker bus, operated by local company JH Coaches was comfortable and very clean.

When the replacement bus is in operation, there will usually be at least one member of the Nexus Customer Services team at each station offering advice and guidance on the location of the bus stops.

Nexus, the Trading name of the Tyne and Wear Passenger Transport Executive run the Metro and have an online travel planner on their website, or they can be called for advice. There are help points at each station.
I have indicated each location of the bus stops for my direction of travel. For buses going in the opposite direction, the bus stops will be nearby.

This ticket is also valid on the North Shields – South Shields ferry as well as on the local rail service between Newcastle and Sunderland.

While filming another in this series, I got speaking to two local teenagers who seemed keen on buses. I spoke to one of them at length and indeed he certainly knows his facts and figures. He pointed out various types of buses during the trip and knew about routes and new buses on order. He was equally keen on trains and planes.
