2 How to reach there-The National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS), situated in the heart of the garden city, is a familiar landmark.
The NIMHANS campus is located on Hosur Road—an arterial road that emanates from the centre of Bengaluru and leads to Electronics City (and stretches up to Hosur in Tamil Nadu). Easily accessible from all parts of the city, the campus is around 40 km away from the Kempegowda International Airport and approximately 8 km from the Bengaluru City Railway Station and 7 km from Kempegowda Bus Station (or Majestic Bus Stand).

The Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) runs airport shuttle service (24/7) with a fleet of air-conditioned Volvo buses – ‘Vayu Vajra’. The buses connect the airport and the city through various routes, making about 250 trips each day at a frequency of 30 minutes (https://www.mybmtc.com/airportservices). Airport taxi service can also be availed for travel to Bengaluru city and vice versa – Karnataka Taxi (KSTDC), MegaCabs, and Meru Cabs are the official taxi operators.

3 Best time to visit- If you are visiting first time it is suggested to go Around 4:30 in the morning . If You have a referral letter then you can go after 6 Am , or if you have done Online registration then also you can arrive at the OPD section around 5-6 Am.


4 Approx time - It usually takes 10 hours for the complete first day checkup. They usually does not admit patient if the case is not so critical. i suggest you to take atleast one week time in your hand.

5 Any nearby places to see- There are lot of other hospital you can visit- 1 Sanjay Gandhi Institute of Trauma & Orthopaedics (Govt hospital), St. John's Medical Hospital, Agadi Hospital , Apollo Hospital. And also many more around.

6 cost - Cost is very minimal in Nimhans RS 20 for registration and checkup, Rs 30 for physiotherapy.

7 Food nearby- There is a canteen inside OPD section and different other food stalls are available inside opd , physiotherapy section.

8 Essential item to take- Any previous reports of the patient.
