If you haven’t enabled custom thumbnails on your YouTube channel yet, you can easily do it even on your mobile phone.

Just follow these steps:

1. Actually, you cannot do that on YouTube App, so you will need to go to YouTube.com website on your mobile phone.
2. Then click on three-dot icon at the top right corner of your screen and click on “Desktop site” to request a desktop version of YouTube.
3. Now click on your profile picture at the top right and from the menu select “YouTube studio”.
4. Now click on gear icon at the bottom left to go to your settings.
5. Now choose “Channel” from the left-hand menu.
6. Tap on “Feature eligibility” tab at the top.
7. Here you will see your “Default features” and “Features that require phone verification”.
8. As you can see your channel must be free of active community guideline strikes and be verified by phone. As you can see my channel is already verified, however, you should see a button here to verify your channel. Just verify it with your phone and if you don’t have any active community guideline strikes, then custom thumbnail option will be enabled for you.
