Why are factory workers angry in Noida? | BBC News India

Описание: A large number of factory workers took to the streets in Uttar Pradesh's Noida on April 13. What began as protests over low wages and poor working conditions soon turned tense. Demonstrations spread across industrial areas with reports of vandalism, stone pelting, and even vehicles being set on fire in some places.

More than 300 people have been arrested over the violence, damage to property, and inciting unrest. The district administration says key demands, including wage hikes and timely payments, have now been accepted.

BBC journalist Jugal Purohit visited a workers’ settlement in Noida to understand what’s driving the anger, speaking to workers and their families.
