Changes announced by IRCC regarding the elimination of Job Offer points for Express Entry profiles

Описание: On March 25, 2025, Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada announced that the removal of job offer points from the Express Entry Comprehensive Ranking System is EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY. While on December 23, 2024, IRCC indicated that the change was coming “in the spring”, the official removal of these points only came about in revised Ministerial Instructions that were published on March 11, 2025.

Practically, what this means is that individuals who are in the Express Entry pool awaiting an Invitation to Apply or those who are planning to submit their information to the Express Entry pool will no longer be allocated 200 points for senior managerial job offers or 50 points for all other skilled occupation job offers.

Keep in mind, points for job offers that are part of a particular Federal Immigration Stream will still be awarded. Those who can receive points for a qualifying job offer under the Federal Skilled Trades Program, the Federal Skilled Worker Program and some Provincial Nominee Programs will continue to be awarded points pursuant to the criteria of those streams.
