This was the toughest and wildest day of our Safarnama journey.
We rode over 14 hours from Sost to Besham a 14 hour journey starting at 8 AM and reaching at 10 PM. The ride wasn’t easy. We were stopped by army checkpoints, and then came the dreaded road patch in Dasu, if you can even call it a road. That 2-hour stretch nearly broke us.
In the darkness of Kohistan, Haris’s bike ran out of petrol. We were stranded for 30 minutes with nothing but silence and pitch black night around us. Eventually, with just 1 liter of fuel, we made it to Besham and crashed for the night.
The next day, we headed to Battagram and booked a bus for our 7-hour ride back to Lahore. But there was one last twist the bus was full… so we slept in the driver’s compartment under the bus. Yes, really.
This is how Safarnama ends a journey of adventure, struggle, laughter, and stories we’ll never forget.
