In this video, you’ll learn how to connect to anonymous RDP inside the Tor network on Tails OS using VPN.CD Level 3+. We’ll install Remmina, import the AnonymousRD****ONION.rdp profile, and tune the connection for stability.

1) Prepare Tails

Boot Tails with:

Persistent Storage enabled

Unsafe Browser allowed

Administrator password set

Configure the Persistent Storage features you want to save your data.

2) Download RDP keys via Tor

Connect to the Tor network.

Using Tor Browser, download your RDP keys.

3) Move the RDP files into Persistent

Open Downloads and extract the keys archive into a new folder (double-click the archive).

Open that new folder and copy all its contents into the Persistent folder.

4) Install Remmina (RDP client)

Open Console and run:

sudo su
(enter your Tails administrator password)

apt update
(wait for it to finish)

apt install remmina remmina-plugin-rdp -y

Wait until all required packages are installed.

5) Import the Onion RDP profile in Remmina

Open Remmina: Applications → Internet → Remmina

In Remmina menu, choose Import.

In the Persistent folder, select the file:

AnonymousRD****ONION.rdp

Right-click the new connection → Edit.

6) Increase the connection timeout (important)

Go to the Advanced tab.

Set “Connection wait time ms” to:

60000
(enter this exact value)

Click Save, then double-click the connection to start.

7) Connect & adjust resolution

Confirm the connection certificate prompt.

Enter the password from pass.txt to log in.

Click “Toggle dynamic resolution update” to fit the desktop to your monitor.

✅ The desktop is connected — you can begin work.

Optional: file transfer between Tails and remote desktop

Add a shared folder in the connection settings (for example: Persistent).

Optional: access the desktop via Tor Browser

Open the link from browser.txt in Tor Browser.

Use browser_pass.txt to authorize in the browser.

To log in to the OS, enter the password from pass.txt manually (clipboard may not work in Tor Browser).
