The ash plume travelled thousands of kilometres and entered Indian airspace on Monday night, prompting aviation authorities to issue safety guidelines and affecting flight operations. The cloud drifted over Delhi, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Punjab and Haryana.
