Storm lightning and jet engines VLF radio receiver 1 KHz 30 KHz revisited schematic

Описание: IMPORTANT: on 5.19 in the video the two bias resistors of the first BC 547 (27 K to + and 10 K to min - , node to the base) are not visible, due to the paper that covers them (!). But they have to be wired in, otherwise it does not work with the FET as first transistor.

I had questions from 2 of my viewers regarding this circuit that I published many years ago. A storm/lightning/jet engines radio receiver on VLF (schematic from 1962).

Especially about making the coil. This video shows a new circuit of that VLF radio receiver + how I made that coil in the past. Perhaps interesting to do more experiments.

It surely worked (with a coil on a wooden frame) as a “far away lightning detector” and I could study the electromagnetic effects from lightning (tested with a frequency spectrum analyzer & software). Antenna on wooden frame is here    • Making a VLF antenna for the 2 KHz-10 KHz ...

Regarding all my video’s: I constantly keep them actual, so the original video’s with the most recent information are always on YouTube. That is the source, and search there. When my video’s are reproduced or re-edited on other websites/channels you can not (!) be sure about the original content (=really working electronics) and important adaptations to the circuits.

Be aware of that, I saw on the internet my circuits reproduced in a poor or even not proper way. I can not help that, sorry. Sometimes fake names are added to my circuits or people claim them for fantasy purposes, like searching for gold. That is - of course - nonsense. Upload 18 september 2019.

6.34 in the video: IMPORTANT: for the use as active antenna on Shortwave (2 MHZ-15 MHZ) of course the coil at the input must be adapted and/or a broadband rod antenna (dutch: "sprietantenne") of 50 cm - 2 meter length can be used.
