Today we replace the drive belt, tensioner and idler pulleys on a PX2 FORD RANGER. Note, Ford genuine parts list 2 part numbers for the genuiner oem tensioner. The tensior for the px1 and early pre dpf px2 Ranger are significantly more e pensive than the tensioner for a DPF px2 and PX3 Ranger! we purchased the Genuine ford parts px2/3 tensioner bc it was cheaper and compared it to the more expensive px1 tensioner. Great news is theyre identical in every way. Bolts right up no mods required. we did notice the px2/3 tensioner didnt come with the small plastic guard as was fitted on the px1 & pre dpf px2. more good news, if you want to fit the plastic guard from your existing px1/2 to the px2/3 tensioner, it bolts straight up. no mods. use your existing bolts off your old tensioner.
This job requires basic hand tools: deep sockets in 13mm and 14mm, flat blade screw driver for the airbox lid piping and perhaps some ring spanners in similar sizes.
It's a really easy job, simply remove the airbox lid and piping, unbolt the the 3 retaining 13mm tensioner bolts and un bolt the idler pulley. Fit the new gear and bolt them up tight. Like comment and subscribe. Thanks legends!
