The Faces of the Alexandria Fire Department: Stories of Courage, Dedication and Service
Meet the first responders of the City of Alexandria Fire Department (AFD). They are fathers, mothers, sons, daughters, friends, and neighbors. They are also firefighters and paramedics, and they put their lives on the line every day responding to fires, accidents, and other emergencies. In this new human interest video series, you will get to know AFD from the inside out, from the individual perspectives of some of our first responders. You will meet the firefighters and paramedics who make up the department and about their stories, their challenges, and their triumphs.
Firefighter Leslie Palucho joined the Alexandria Fire Department 8 years ago. She grew up in the City of Alexandria experiencing two cultures – American and El Salvadoran. Check out her story to learn how her culture and upbringing serve her well when responding to a diverse community.
