Streets of Rage Remake v5.2 - SoR1 & SoR2 Routes as SoR3 Shiva (Normal Difficulty)

Описание: One of the best fan games ever made. I recently replayed it and quickly unlocked a couple of characters and all forms for every one of them. Streets of Rage 4 was amazing, but I think Streets of Rage Remake is better, even if it's routes can be rather wacky at times and it's story does not make much sense when you think about it.
The latest version of the game came completely out of the blue and gave it some improved visuals in some places, new songs, bug fixes, tweaks, some new scenes and widescreen support. That was over an year ago now, but after that, I don't think this game will ever need any updates in the future - v5.2 completed it and it's now almost perfect.

There are several routes to choose to start from in the game. From what I've seen, there is up to four of them, but I may also be wrong. The most common routes are the SoR1 and SoR2 route, which stay almost entirely faithful with upgraded visuals, music and some new enemies added in at some points in levels. The SoR3 route is the weirdest one, with it having elements of other routes and also entirely new stages and scenes. You can also change your selected route at certain points in the game via walking over different paths in some of the stages, but I stuck to the proper SoR1 and SoR2 routes until the end of both runs.

For the purpose of overall game enjoyment, I've disabled the timer and set most of the game options to "SOR3" and "Remake" while also selecting to play the game on the normal difficulty. I'd select a harder one, but I am not an expert fighting game player, and I had some problems fighting against enemies even on the normal difficulty. It's especially apparent in the SoR1 route since enemies are way trickier there and they absolutely swarmed me.
The final levels are always the most difficult because they consist of rematches against previous battles and often leave little room for error, and I can never forget the tough as a brick Mr. X battle in which he hits like a truck and getting up close and personal to him is not as simple as it may look. I burned supers just for the final battle and even then it wasn't much easier. It sucks I had to burn through a continue on the final fight in the SoR1 route as well, but I grew too tired to play through the whole game again just to get it right. I made sure to play as Shiva since he is badass and is one of them powerful characters in the game... ah, quite nothing like a Shiva on Shiva battle close to the finale of the game.

Overall, this game kicks ass. It's great, it's tough, it may sometimes be rage inducing, and that's what I love about it. And it's also Streets of Rage, the title alone should be enough to explain how good the game is.

I realized I may have maxed out music volume and that may have drowned some of the sound in the game. Oh well, at the very least that seems like a good sign of music in the game being absolutely kick-ass, which, by the way, it completely is.
