How's it going neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com and we're taking a look at the Yakima SkyBox NX on our 2022 Ford Bronco Sport. Generally, when you're looking towards items like rooftop boxes, you're trying to solve the issue that I'm pretty sure you're aware of with the Bronco Sport, that limited cargo space. When you add a box like the SkyBox, it's gonna give you that additional cargo area by using negative space on top of your vehicle. The SkyBox NX is available in a 16 cubic foot box that we're looking at here. And if you need a larger box, the 18 cubic foot is available. However, on top of the Bronco Sport, the 16 cubic foot is gonna be the longest that'll fit without obstructing the tailgate.

Slide or tailgate open here. As you can see, no risk of having any contact with the back of the tailgate. However, this is gonna be as far back as you can go without bumping into your antenna. So just be aware of that when you're doing your installation. The cool thing about the SkyBox is the fact that it uses the Yakima same key system, so you can have the same key core number on not only the box, but your Yakima roof rack or your Yakima bike carrier.

It's just one single key for all those different devices can make your life way easier when you're trying to hit the road. Your clamps are gonna wrap around your bars. Right here, when using aero-style CoreBar from Yakima, but it will work for any style bar. If you have square, round, factory, it's gonna work with just about all of those items. The way that it secures is gonna be the fasteners here at the top, and you have it included Yakima tool that actually is a torque wrench.

So it'll click once you reach the specified torque requirement and it stores right here on the handle. You have tie-down points above each hook to secure your load on the inside of your carrier. And if you wanna add a little bit of additional protection, you can add the Yakima SkyBox padded insert. Your box's overall height from the top of your bars is 16 inches, so you may want to keep that in mind when you're loading up. If you don't have that clearance in your garage, you might wanna load up in the driveway.

And just so you're aware, going into parking garages and fast food drive-throughs. If you compare the finish here versus a glossy finish, the glossy is gonna show up all those imperfections that just happened from how it's being used, where this is gonna conceal it, keeping it looking nicer and newer longer.
