Extend and restore the service life of your industrial components with Thermaspray’s specialised services. Laser Cladding is a procedure that is complementary to thermal spray coating, involving refurbishment to OEM specifications or protecting critical component surfaces from erosive-, corrosive- or abrasive wear. Overlays that specifically resist these forms of wear can be applied to a variety of base materials.
While Laser Cladding is similar to PTA welding in terms of the types of materials such as Stellites and carbides that can be deposited onto the substrate, critical factors such as component distortion due to heat input and overlay dilution are no longer design factors to take into consideration with laser cladding.
Laser Cladding is increasingly used instead of PTA (Plasma Transferred Arc) welding and easily outperforms conventional welding methods like TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) for advanced weld repair applications.
