Glossary of Terms

Anunnaki (ahn new nock ee) n. A species thought to have originated from Rhapta to guide humanity. They live longer than humans, can speak to each other telepathically, and have abilities. They reside only in Rhapta. If an Anunnaki leaves the city limits, their abilities fade, and they slowly become human and forget Rhapta. Some live outside the city limits but still within the psychic barrier. Their abilities are weakened, and they have developed a need for verbal speech.

Elder (ell der) n. One of the fifty leaders of Rhapta. One out of every fifty is a Grand Elder who leads in ceremony and prophecy.

guakal (gwa kall) n. A fist-sized, rigid-shelled, lime-green fruit with miniature red spikes on its exterior; native to Rhapta.

laqueus (la kwees) n. A rope, silvery-gray in color, made by Anunnaki used to bind or dampen abilities. Mildly annoying to Anunnaki, physically painful to humans.

magalkan’a (muh gal kahn uh) n. Commonly known as Aurastone, believed to be the origin of Anunnaki abilities. Shades range from white to azure.

mark (mar k) n. The tribal tattoo that every Anunnaki is born with. Only venari and ubir have different tattoos. Venari’s are larger and need to be reapplied monthly; it allows them to enter the human world while retaining their abilities for a short time. Ubir tattoos are similar but red and swollen, as if infected.

reykalkan’o (ray kal kon oh) n. Commonly known as Deathstone. It is cracked Aurastone. Created either by blood magic, or taking it from Rhapta. Its presence is extremely painful to Anunnaki, creating a high-pitched ringing. If the Anunnaki cannot hear it, it’s unlikely to be harmful.

Rhapta (rap tuh) n. An ancient city located near Mt. Kilimanjaro. It is hidden behind a psychic barrier and unknown to humanity. Currently at half capacity due to its dwindling population.

ubir (oo beer) n. Anunnaki that have defected from Rhapta and turned to blood magic to exist outside of the city while retaining their abilities. They quickly become rabid and need to sacrifice humans to retain their abilities. Their Aura is chaotic and painful.

Ummanu (oo mon oo) n. Humans who are aware of Anunnaki's existence and have allied with them. Most watch over the portals around the world.

venari (venn are ee) n. Anunnaki bounty hunters tasked with locating and returning ubir from human society. They are shunned within Rhapta due to their “dirty” work and closeness with human society.
