HOW TO HELP ACCIDENT VICTIMS INCREASE THEIR CHANCES AT SURVIVAL

Actions to take include;

1. Ensure that the accident scene is safe for you the rescuer to intervene and then move the victims to a safe space.

2. Call for help; either you call emergency medical services where it's available or you call out for means of transportation to the NEAREST hospital.

3. PROVIDE FIRST AID TO ACCIDENT VICTIMS AT THE SCENE;
If victim is unresponsive, provide CPR
If victim is bleeding, help arrest the bleeding
If victim is cold (becoming hypothermic), provide warm blankets/clothes to keep them warm
If you suspect spine cord injury, transport the victim in such a way that the head and neck remains stable

4. At the hospital, remember it's a collaborative effort, find a way to work together with the healthcare providers to help increase the chances of survival of the victim.
