World of Warships - New Orleans Class Cruiser and Why You Should Play the US Cruiser Line

Описание: The New Orleans class cruiser in World of Warships is one example of why you should play the US cruiser line. The ships guns are what most players find hard to come to terms with because they are really not snipping guns. This is because the shell velocities are slower then the other ships of it's tier meaning that the shells have higher arcs and take longer to reach the target. So the Ship needs to get closer to it's targets in order for the guns to be effective and most players don't like this idea. But this ship in game is quiet capable of doing so because the ship is more agile then it's counterparts and doesn't slow down as much when it turns. The ship responds to the rudder shift a lot quicker then the other cruisers of the tier and because it slows down less when it turns the ship in the end turns quicker. This all adds up to the ship being quiet capable of dodging Battleship shells at closer ranges where it's guns become more effective and add to this the fast turret traverse and you see that this ship is meant to be a brawling style of ship.
The New Orleans Class was a class of 7 ships that came in 3 different test bed designs which where used to test innovations in cruiser design. These ships also where involved in most of the major battles in the pacific war. They where 9950 tonnes each and 588ft 2in long with a beam of 61ft 9in and could move at a max of 32.7 knots. Each ship was armed with 9x8in guns in 3 triple turrets 8x5in duel purpose guns and 8 .50 caliber machine guns. After the attack on Pearl Harbor by the Japaneses the US Navy realized that aircraft would have the greatest effect on the war so later these ships where fitted with Oerliken and Bofors anti air guns. Each ship had approximately 708 officers and enlisted men on board.

World of Warships is one of many free online games and is also one of the more enjoyable multiplayer games in the war games genre and who doesn't enjoy free games :D
