Описание: Nice little loop of Loughrigg today. Parked at Pelter Bridge and headed clockwise along Under Loughrigg to climb up Fox Ghyll to meet the path running from Ambleside to near Brunt How. Dropping down to the Road and back up to see how the walk could be done from Skelwith Bridge side. Heading up the road and along the track towards Loughrigg Tarn before taking the path just after The How and heading steeply up the side of Loughrigg Fell (This although steep is a much better path, gravel and pitched steps than the path from Loughrigg Terrace) it’s a 180m climb in just over 500m. The summit was quite busy so I decided to head straight down after a few photos. This side of the fell was more like winter, there was no wind coming up and with the winter sun it was just a T-shirt, as all the other layers had come off. The path down to Loughrigg Terrace was as rough as I remembered it. Fix the Fells have bags of stone all along it but lots of work still to be done. Not as steep as my ascent today but harder work on the rough bits. Once on Loughrigg Terrace it’s a nice walk as usual with views of Grasmere and Rydal Water then the obligatory explore of Rydal Caves before returning to the car.
