One day last week, my Grandpa mentioned the battery light had come on in the car. When I got a chance, I checked it out, and determined indeed, the alternator wasn't charging the battery.
I had plans to install a brand new Motorcraft alternator, but the harness connector is different, so it went back. Unfortunately, it's got a green box store "remanufactured," instead. Initially, the replacement didn't want to charge, but after rechecking my work, the positive connection was a bit loose. After wiggling it a bit, it started to charge, so I re tightened it, and all is well. May last 5 minutes, or five years!
It's a straightforward job, and took about 20 minutes.
