राज्यात परभणीची कापूस जिल्हा म्हणून गणना होते. मानवत हे तालुक्याचे ठिकाण जिल्ह्यातील शेतीमालाचे प्रमुख व्यापार केंद्र व मराठवाड्यातील कापडाची प्रमुख बाजारपेठ म्हणून प्रसिद्ध आहे. काही दशकांपूर्वी येथे हातमाग व त्यानंतर यंत्रमागावर सुती कापड विणले जायचे. कालौघात कापड निर्मिती बंद झाली. स्वातंत्र्यपूर्व काळात निजाम राजवटीत १९३० च्या हैदराबाद कृषी बाजार अधिनियमानुसार सहा नोव्हेंबर १९४३ रोजी मानवत कृषी उत्पन्न बाजार समितीची स्थापना झाली.

Parbhani is considered a cotton district in the state. Manavat, a place in the taluka, is famous as the main trading center of agricultural products in the district and the main market for cloth in Marathwada. A few decades ago, cotton cloth was woven here on handlooms and later on power looms. Over time, cloth production ceased. During the pre-independence period, during the Nizam's rule, the Manavat Agricultural Produce Market Committee was established on November 6, 1943, under the Hyderabad Agricultural Market Act of 1930.
