Kerala Style Ethakka Appam - Easy Pazham Pori Recipe
Ingredients
Banana – 5 to 6 nos
Rice flour -1 cup
Raw rice -1 cup
Urad dal- ½ cup
Baking soda – ½ tsp
Turmeric powder – 1 tsp
Salt – 1 tsp
Oil – 1 ltr
Method
Take a mud bowl add rice flour powder.
Then add rice and urad dal grinding paste in to the bowl
Add a pinch of salt ,turmeric powder and baking soda powder mix them well with a spatula.
Gradually pour water and mix until you get a smooth batter.
Take some turmeric powder and water into the spatula mix them well and pour it into the batter and mix them well.it can help you get a good colour to the pazham pori
The batter should be thick enough to coat the back of a spoon but not too runny
Peel the ripe bananas and cut them into thin slices or diagonal pieces. Make sure the slices are not too thick.
Heat enough oil in a deep frying pan on medium heat. The oil should be hot enough for frying, but not smoking.
Dip each banana slice into the batter, making sure it is evenly coated on all sides.
Carefully drop the coated banana slices into the hot oil one by one
Fry them well,turning occasionally until the bananas turn golden brown and crisp.
Once done, remove the Pazham Pori from the oil and place them on a plate to drain excess oil.
Serve hot with a cup of tea or as an evening snack
