This video is 3 of 3 of the eOTS slug catcher demo.
We have constructed a proof of concept HYSYS based East101 Operator Training Solution eOTS. This first video introduces the benefits the architecture of the eOTS, and sets up the the example case that shall be run the next three videos.
The example is an upstream deep water facility (FPSO) that has experienced a loss of gas lift. This has resulted in severe slugging. In this demo, we show the impact the slug control valve has on the liquid surge in the slug catcher.
Video 2 of 3 shows what happens to the liquid level in the slug catcher if the slug control valves are maintained at 100% open when severe slugging occurs.
Video 3 of 3 shows what happens when an operator intervenes and starts reducing the slug control valve openings to try and mitigate the liquid surge in the slug catcher.
