I'm in my late twenties, and I come from the world of hot-rodding and custom fabrication.
I've spent over 8 years in the automotive industry before I came to work at Absolute Classics.
The boss has given me full creative rights on this project as the wooden boat industry typically never allows any customization beyond what has already been done. We are attempting to revive the passion of these boats.

The boats are absolutely gorgeous and so similar to the vintage cars of the same era. But, due to the pressure of the wooden boat culture, it has become a stale sub-culture of vintage lifestyle.
The point of this Rat-Rod series it to show you that anyone, anywhere, any age can restore these boats affordably, with ease. And you don't need to feel overwhelmed by the size of the project or the pressure of the culture. If you put in the work, you can be on the water in a classic boat for a very affordable price !!

Of course, we will be doing another series showing a purists version of a restoration in the future.
However, this particular boat is at the whim of a gen-z hotrodder....
