Are Onewheel Batteries Dangerous To Repair?

Описание: In a recent video, Future Motion may have misrepresented the reality of independent repair, and also may have continued using scare tactics to convince users that all repairs and servicing of battery-related issues outside of the manufacturers are inherently dangerous. In this video, I try to illustrate that lithium-ion batteries are very much all related, and similar in their design philosophy and function. For this reason, technicians are repair persons outside of the manufacturer can indeed be qualified and able to service PEVs and their batteries. It's important to be fair and realistic about lithium ion batteries, and understand that they carry with them risks whether or not they are OEM batteries from large factories, or hand built packs from qualified builders.

Currently, the new Onewheel GT does not allow any end user or independent service person to replace the internal battery. The device breaks itself if the battery is unplugged, and can no longer function unless it is sent back to the manufacturer. The claim for this is safety, but that claim is not based in the reality of servicing personal/light electric vehicles.
