Leon County Circuit Court Judge Stephen Everett quickly rejected a motion for acquittal brought by Donna Adelson’s lawyers in her murder-for-hire trial in Tallahassee, Florida, today (Tuesday, Sept. 2, day 7).
Adelson’s lawyer Joshua Zelman argued not enough evidence exists for a jury to even consider the murder, conspiracy and solicitation charges against Adelson. This is a standard argument made by the defense after the prosecution presents all evidence.
14:20 Assistant State Attorney Sarah Kathryn Dugan said there’s actually a ton of evidence, and she reminded the judge he’s to consider the evidence in the light most favorable to the prosecution.
